As part of the Egyptian leadership’s directives to maximize the contribution of tourism to the national economy, and in support of the efforts of the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, led by Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, to increase inbound air traffic and open new tourism markets, Nile Air announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Mayfair Jets to launch seven direct air routes connecting Hurghada with several major European cities.
The partnership comes within Nile Air’s strategy to expand across European markets and strengthen direct air connectivity between Egypt’s tourist destinations and high-potential source markets, in line with the country’s plans to increase tourist arrivals and achieve sustainable economic development goals.
The new routes will connect Hurghada International Airport with Cologne, Nuremberg, Hanover, Berlin, Erfurt, and Leipzig in Germany, as well as Zurich in Switzerland, providing an advanced air network linking Egypt with some of Europe’s most important tourism-generating markets.
Ahmed Orabi, Chief Commercial Officer of Nile Air, stated that the agreement represents a significant strategic step within the airline’s international expansion plans and reflects the growing confidence in Egypt as a tourist destination as well as in the operational capabilities of Egyptian carriers. He noted that Germany remains one of the most important source markets for tourism to Egypt.
Ayman Farouk, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of Nile Air, added that the new routes are expected to increase tourist flows to Hurghada, one of the leading destinations on the Red Sea, renowned for its advanced hospitality infrastructure, unique natural attractions, and world-class beaches and diving sites.
Nile Air affirmed that this cooperation supports the efforts of the Egyptian government and Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, to expand international air connectivity and increase inbound tourism traffic. The airline noted that partnerships between airlines and international tour operators are among the key drivers of growth in the tourism and aviation sectors.
The company also confirmed that it will continue implementing its expansion plans to open additional European markets and strengthen direct connectivity with Egyptian tourist destinations, contributing to Egypt’s position as a leading global tourism destination and supporting the country’s economic development objectives in the coming years.
