لقي جندي من قوات حفظ السلام التابعة للأمم المتحدة في لبنان (اليونيفيل)، اليوم (الخميس)، حتفه وأُصيب اثنان آخران جراء قذائف مدفعية استهدفت موقعهم بالقرب من مرجعيون جنوب شرقي لبنان.

وقالت قوات اليونيفيل، عبر حسابها على منصة «إكس»، إن أحد أفرادها لقي حتفه في وقت مبكر من صباح اليوم متأثراً بإصابات خطيرة تعرض لها بعدما أصابت قذائف مدفعية موقعه بالقرب من مرجعيون في جنوب شرقي لبنان. وأضافت أن اثنين آخرين من عناصر حفظ السلام، أُصيبا أيضاً في الهجوم، ويتلقيان العلاج في منشأة طبية داخل إحدى قواعد القوة الدولية.

وأشارت مصادر في اليونيفيل إلى رصد تزايد في وتيرة القصف والمقذوفات جنوب لبنان، داعية جميع الأطراف إلى تنفيذ التزاماتها وضمان سلامة موظفي الأمم المتحدة.

من جهة أخرى، أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي أن القتال في جنوب لبنان مستمر، مع مواصلة استهداف مواقع وبنى تحتية تابعة لـ«حزب الله»، مطالباً السكان بعدم التوجه إلى المناطق الواقعة جنوب نهر الزهراني حتى إشعار آخر.

فيما قالت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية إن مسيّرة تابعة لـ«حزب الله» أصابت مركبة قائد القيادة الشمالية في الجيش الإسرائيلي بجنوب لبنان، دون وقوع إصابات.

وفي غضون ذلك، ذكرت القناة 13 الإسرائيلية أنه تم تقديم موعد اجتماع المجلس الوزاري المصغر إلى مساء اليوم، بعدما كان مقرراً عقده الأحد القادم، وذلك عقب إعلان واشنطن التوصل إلى تسوية بين بيروت وتل أبيب.

A soldier from the United Nations peacekeeping forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was killed today (Thursday), and two others were injured due to artillery shells targeting their position near Marjayoun in southeastern Lebanon.

UNIFIL stated via its account on the "X" platform that one of its members was killed early this morning as a result of serious injuries sustained after artillery shells hit his position near Marjayoun in southeastern Lebanon. It added that two other peacekeepers were also injured in the attack and are receiving treatment at a medical facility within one of the international force's bases.

Sources in UNIFIL indicated that there has been an increase in the frequency of shelling and projectiles in southern Lebanon, calling on all parties to fulfill their commitments and ensure the safety of United Nations personnel.

On the other hand, the Israeli army announced that fighting in southern Lebanon continues, with ongoing targeting of sites and infrastructure belonging to "Hezbollah," urging residents not to approach areas south of the Litani River until further notice.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that a drone belonging to "Hezbollah" struck the vehicle of the commander of the Northern Command of the Israeli army in southern Lebanon, with no injuries reported.

In the meantime, Channel 13 in Israel mentioned that the meeting of the security cabinet has been rescheduled to this evening, having originally been set for next Sunday, following Washington's announcement of a settlement between Beirut and Tel Aviv.
