قال المدير الفني لمنتخب مصر حسام حسن: الوقت ضيق للغاية بين مباراتي أستراليا والأرجنتين، وحاولنا تجهيز اللاعبين من خلال الاستشفاء ودراسة المنافس جيداً. وأضاف: نواجه منافساً كبيراً بحجم الأرجنتين مساء اليوم في دور الـ16 في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، ولديهم أسطورة مثل ميسي، لكننا نعمل على تطبيق أفكارنا الفنية المعتادة، وإذا ركزنا على لاعبي الفريق المنافس لن نستطيع مواصلة العمل، وكل تركيزنا على إسعاد الشعب المصري، وليس أسماء المنافسين.

وقال حارس مرمى منتخب مصر محمد علاء: نعيش حالة من التركيز الشديد منذ انطلاق معسكر الإعداد، وسنخوض اليوم واحدة من أقوى وأصعب المباريات أمام بطل العالم، فيما قال اللاعب مصطفى زيكو: ندرك حجم المسؤولية الملقاة على عاتقنا، ونسعى لتقديم أفضل مستوى ممكن من أجل مواصلة المشوار في البطولة وتحقيق حلم الجماهير المصرية، واحترم ليونيل ميسي بشكل كبير كونه أحد أهم لاعبي الكرة في العالم، ولكننا لا نركز على لاعب واحد فقط.

وأضاف: مواجهة منتخب الأرجنتين صعبة للغاية لكننا سندخل اللقاء بهدف تحقيق الفوز، بينما قال اللاعب كريم حافظ: أنا جاهز تماماً لمواجهة الأرجنتين، وأي لاعب يتمنى ويحلم بالمشاركة في مثل هذه المواجهات الكبيرة؛ لأنها تمثّل تاريخاً لكل لاعب.

وأوضح أن الجهاز الفني أغلق ملف الاحتفال بالفوز على أستراليا سريعاً، وبدأ التركيز على لقاء حامل اللقب، وشاهدنا أكثر من مباراة للمنافس، وهدفنا هو الفوز والتأهل لدور الثمانية من البطولة.

The head coach of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan, said: "There is very little time between the matches against Australia and Argentina, and we have tried to prepare the players through recovery and studying the opponent well." He added: "We are facing a great opponent like Argentina this evening in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, and they have a legend like Messi, but we are working on applying our usual tactical ideas. If we focus on the players of the opposing team, we will not be able to continue our work; our entire focus is on making the Egyptian people happy, not on the names of our opponents."

Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed Alaa said: "We are in a state of intense focus since the start of the training camp, and today we will play one of the strongest and most difficult matches against the world champion." Meanwhile, player Mustafa Ziko stated: "We are aware of the responsibility on our shoulders, and we strive to present the best possible performance to continue our journey in the tournament and fulfill the dreams of the Egyptian fans. I respect Lionel Messi greatly as he is one of the most important players in the world, but we do not focus on just one player."

He added: "Facing the Argentina national team is extremely difficult, but we will enter the match with the goal of winning." Player Karim Hafez said: "I am completely ready to face Argentina, and every player dreams of participating in such big matches because they represent a significant moment in every player's career."

He explained that the coaching staff quickly closed the file on celebrating the victory over Australia and began focusing on the match against the defending champions. "We watched several matches of the opponent, and our goal is to win and qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament."
